With Oppo Reno being released just a month after Oppo F11, one has to wonder why Oppo would release two phones so close to each other. Is the former better than the latter? Let’s take a deeper dive into which phone would better.
Oppo F11 vs Oppo Reno Features
Oppo F11 was released on March 2019 and the Oppo Reno followed closely behind in April.
Body and Display
Oppo F11 has a display of 6.53 inches which puts in on the larger end of the spectrum whereas Oppo Reno has a display of 6.4 inches, which is still a good screen size. Both Oppo F11 and Reno are approximate of the same weight of 188g and 185g respectively.
Oppo Reno has the capacity for a dual SIM card whereas the Oppo F11 offers the capability of a hybrid dual SIM. The difference is that in a hybrid slot, you can either use two SIM cards or a SIM card and a micro SD card. This limits the features on Oppo F11 to a minor extent.
Oppo Reno and Oppo F11 both have the same operating system that is the Android 9.0 – Pie. They both have ColorOS 6 which is Oppo’s skin on top of the Android OS. Oppo Reno has a Qualcomm SDM710 Snapdragon chipset whereas F11 has the Mediatek Helio P70 (12nm). Both have an octa-core CPU which the division of speeds is different. Reno has 2 processors working at 2.2 GHz and 6 processors working at 1.7 GHz. Whereas Oppo F11 has 4 processors working at a speed of 2.1 GHz and the rest of the 4 working at 2 GHz. For Graphical Processing Units (GPUs), Oppo Reno runs with an Adreno 616 whereas Oppo F11 utilizes the Mali-G72 MP3.
Reno comes in two variants when the memory is concerned. Firstly, an internal storage capacity of 256 GB with a RAM of either 6 or 8 GB. The second variant houses storage of 128 GB with a 6 GB RAM. Sadly enough, it doesn’t support any micro SD cards which makes it an inconvenience for users. Oppo F11 on the other hand also has 2 variants. A 128 GB main memory with a RAM of 6 GB or 64GB storage coupled with a 4 GB RAM. This phone does allow users to the user a micro SD card but at the expense of giving up a SIM slot in the phone.
Both the phones have a main camera working at 48 MP and the selfie camera at 16 MP for those of us who love to click selfies all the time! However, Reno does offer a better video quality at 2160p@30 Frames per second (fps) whereas F11 can support up to 1080p@30 fps as well.
Oppo Reno uses a Li-Pro Non-removable battery of 3765 mAh but the Oppo F11 runs on a Li-Pro Non-removable battery of 4020 mAh. Even though both the smartphones have the capacity of fast charging, Oppo F11 is clearly a better choice in terms of battery life.
Both the phones have state of the art Fingerprint sensors to ensure security and privacy of the users’ data. Reno’s fingerprint scanner can be found under the display but F11 has its sensor mounted on the rear. Accelerometers, proximity sensors, and a compass can be found in the two.
Oppo Reno has a wider variety of colors available and has a fancier color line as compared to the Oppo F11.
Even though a simple google search of Oppo price in Pakistan will help you realize the price difference in the two phones, here is a comparison nonetheless. Oppo Reno is available at a price of PKR 69,900 and Oppo F11 can be purchased only for PKR 39,999.
To conclude, yes. Oppo Reno is in fact better than Oppo F11 if the two phones are compared end to end. However, after looking at all the information above, Oppo F11 provides a better value for money and it even has longer battery life. Oppo Reno does have an upper hand in some features but the price hike is not a small one which can be overlooked. Oppo F11 takes the bout here with being an economical phone without compromising on features and quality.
